A woman, who sports a beard as a symbol of activism and lives as a man, was convicted yesterday of assaulting a Spokane police officer back in 2009.
Joseph Ali Bin Muhammad — formerly Paula K. Reynolds-Eblacas — was charged as a result of an incident in July of 2009, in which he attempted to grab the officer’s genitals as the officer attempted to detain Muhammed for mental evaluation.
It took the jury 20 minutes to convict Muhammed, who faces up to 90 days in jail. His sentencing is scheduled for April 24.
