KJ Does Love: The perks of being single on Valentine’s Day
You will save money
Valentine’s Day dates (and dates in general) can get pretty expensive. The average American spends $133 on Valentine’s Day. Dinner and a movie can easily turn into an entire work day’s worth of pay spent, not to mention the money you might have spent on a gift for your Valentine. When Valentine’s Day has come and gone, all of your friends in a relationship will be broke and you won’t (ha, suckers).
Discount on candy
There are huge sales on candy the day after Valentine’s Day! Stock up on all of your favorite candies on sale that were left over from Valentine’s Day and relish the fact that you don’t have to share it with anyone.
There’s no drama
Dating can get messy and there is potential for heartbreak. With all of the expectation that can come from Valentine’s Day, it’s common to be left unhappy. When you’re single on Valentine’s Day, your day is drama (and stress) free!
No dressing up
There’s no need to change out of your pajamas this Valentine’s Day! When you don’t have a date, you can stay in your sweats, rock the hat hair and leave your make up off. And when it comes to showering, that can wait until February 15th!
Something that has become very popular in the last few years is “Gal-entine’s Day.” If you don’t have a date on Valentine’s Day, no worries! Grab a few of your single friends and have a fun, pressure free night together! Go out for drinks, have a movie night and/or stuff your faces with your favorite foods.
Romantic Comedy Marathons
Cable television channels tend to have plenty of romantic comedy movie marathons. You can grab some friends, junk food and pop a squat in front of the tv.
There’s no pressure
Without a date on Valentine’s Day, you don’t have to worry about making plans and impressing your date! Reservations are competitive on Valentine’s Day and there’s always so much anticipation. Instead, you can focus on things that really matter- like that test you have coming up or who got voted off The Bachelor last night.
Have fun and be safe this Valentine’s Day!
